Critical mindset - pensamento critico imagem

As a mum of preteens and Digital Product Designer specialist, Inês  was observing repetitive behaviour on how kids share knowledge between them nowadays.

Ten years old is the average age for owning the first smartphone. This young audience does not rely on traditional news mainstream household to understand the world; they rely on their immediate environment - school, friends and family.

Sharing news and knowledge is in the moment. At the same time, schools environments need to cope every day with bad digital behaviour. Most of the kids need to develop a fact-checking mindset.

Researching & finding solutionsEnhance children's critical mindset

What are kids doing if they're not playing? The school and media world are pillars to a healthy society, but the distance between them when it comes to children can be a factor.

Critical minds are essential. Schools develop the growth mindset concept and training the brain to be more aware of how to check the right information. Improving  digital resilience and reduce spreading information without verifying, is imperative. It's a day-to-day job for educators, parents and all.

Apanhado na FakeExercising critical minds

Critical mindset - pensamento critico imagem

Apanhado na Fake, is a news-learning platform based on quizzes, graphics, video and short contents. With a gamification approach, children between 6-12-year-old will learn how fake news can be spotted.

Our goal is to work with teachers and educators, closing the gap between journalism mindset and  young audiences.

Children are more visual than ever. Using a mix of innovative technology and old traditional media, teachers and journalist will have a platform available to use during classes, hackathons, project groups and events.
